Word Game Helper is a Crossplay board solver for the NYT board. Enter the letters on the board and your rack, and it finds the highest-scoring move in one click. Bonus squares, letter values, and the all-tiles bonus are set for each game: 40 points for a sweep in Crossplay, 50 for a bingo in Scrabble, and 35 in Words with Friends.

NYT Crossplay Word Finder & Helper
Word Game Helper is a Crossplay helper for the NYT board. Type the letters already played and the seven tiles on your rack, or upload a screenshot. It scores every legal play with Crossplay letter points, bonus squares, and the 40-point sweep.
NYT Crossplay tile values
Crossplay is played on a 15 by 15 board, like Scrabble, but the letter values and bonus squares are not Scrabble's. When NYT Crossplay is selected, this solver uses Crossplay's letter values, 40-point sweep, 3 blanks, and board. The center star shows where the first word must go, and it does not add a score bonus.
How Crossplay differs from Scrabble
- Using all 7 tiles scores 40 in Crossplay (a sweep) and 50 in Scrabble (a bingo).
- Crossplay has 3 blanks. Scrabble has 2.
- The Crossplay center star does not multiply the score. Scrabble's center star is a double word.
- Nine letters have different values: B is 4 in Crossplay and 3 in Scrabble; G is 4 and 2; H is 3 and 4; J is 10 and 8; K is 6 and 5; L is 2 and 1; U is 2 and 1; V is 6 and 4; W is 5 and 4.
- This helper uses the same word list for both games: the older TWL, plus the two-letter words DA, GI, PO, TE, EW, and OK. It is not the full NWL2023.
Highlighted letters score differently than in Scrabble.

Does Word Game Helper work with NYT Crossplay, Scrabble, and Words with Friends?+
Yes. Choose your game so letter values, bonus squares, and the all-tiles bonus match that game: a 40-point sweep in Crossplay, 50 in Scrabble, and 35 in Words with Friends. Crossplay's center star marks the opening square and does not multiply the score. Scrabble's center star is a double word.
How do I enter blank or wildcard tiles?+
Use a question mark (?) for each blank on your rack. Crossplay has 3 blanks. Scrabble and Words with Friends have 2. The rack will not accept more than that game allows.
What does Show Me Best Move do?+
It finds every valid word you can play with your tiles, scores them with that game's letter values and bonus squares, then adds the all-tiles bonus: 40 points in Crossplay, 50 in Scrabble, and 35 in Words with Friends.

Your board and tiles stay on your device. Word Game Helper does not send your game data to a server. You can save boards locally in your browser if you want to switch between games. Ads are served by Google and may use cookies.
What is a sweep in Crossplay?+
A sweep is using all 7 tiles in one turn. Crossplay adds 40 points. The same play is a 50-point bingo in Scrabble and a 35-point bingo in Words with Friends.
How many blank tiles are in Crossplay?+
Crossplay has 3 blank tiles. Scrabble and Words with Friends have 2. Enter each one as ? on your rack.
What dictionary does Crossplay use?+
NYT Crossplay uses NWL2023, with New York Times edits. This helper uses the older TWL, plus the two-letter words DA, GI, PO, TE, EW, and OK. Those six were added to the NASPA list in 2014 and 2018. Longer words added since 2006 can still be missing. Words with Friends has its own official list, which this helper does not load separately.
Can I upload a screenshot of my Crossplay board?+
